History of Cascade Valley Figure Skating Club
In February 2003, the club was recognized by Washington State as a non-profit organization. This began a period of gathering charter members and establishing its presence in the greater Seattle area as a provisional club. Cascade Valley Figure Skating Club became an affiliated member of United States Figure Skating in March of 2006.
SnoKing Renton: 12620 164th Ave SE, Renton, Washington, is our Principal Arena Headquarters.
We owe much of our existence to Jean McDowell, who put forth herculean efforts to see that our club grew from just a "good idea" to the support system of our skating members that we know today. Since Jean's initial efforts, we have sent skaters to Regional, Sectional and National competitions, hosted test sessions that have graduated many gold and double gold (Senior Level) skaters.
