Club History
In February 2003, Cascade Valley Figure Skating Club (CVFSC) was recognized by Washington State as a nonprofit organization. This began a period of gathering charter members and establishing its presence in the greater Seattle area as a provisional club. CVFSC became an affiliated member of U.S. Figure Skating in March of 2006.
We owe much of our existence to Jean McDowell, who put forth herculean efforts to see that our club grew from just a "good idea," to the support system of our skating members that we know today. Since Jean's initial efforts, we have sent skaters to regional, sectional and national competitions, hosted test sessions that have graduated many gold and double gold (senior level) skaters, and hosted annual competitions.
