May Blades 2010 scheduled May 13-14, 2010

By John Martin, February 28, 2010 6:32 pm

Received a May Blades update from Competition Chair Sonja Rasmussen. Many of our club members compete at this event. It is our unofficial start of the season:

You have received this email because you attended May Blades last year.  Please feel free to forward this info.

May Blades 2010 will be held May (13) 14 – 16, 2010 at Sprinker Recreation Center in Tacoma. We will be using the ISU Judging system for Juvenile through Senior qualifying events (short program, free skating, compulsory, original and free dances), plus Open Juvenile and Adult Gold & Masters.  We’re keeping the Juvenile Short Program event and the low-level IJS events this year, as well as Basic Skills.  We will be using video playback this year for IJS events.

You can find the announcement and entry forms on our web site at http://www.lakewoodwinterclub.com/mayblades/.  Like last year, the entry form and the planned program elements sheet can be filled out on-line and printed out. This will help us minimize errors.  Just click in the yellow boxes and start typing.  Tab to get to the next  field.  On the 2nd page, pick which event(s) you’d like to enter by clicking  the arrow in the gray box next to the event you want to enter. Select your event from the list that comes up. That’s all there is to it!  Entry forms can be emailed, but charge forms/checks must still be sent in by US Mail or called in to me.  Planned program element sheets can also be emailed and are due by May 1st.

I am planning on holding a test session on Thursday, May 13th or Friday, May 14th, depending on the competition schedule.  Test forms can be found on our website.  Please let me know if you are interested in testing.  The deadline for testing is May 1st, but it helps me in scheduling if I know earlier.
