Club Ice and Regional Send-Off!
On Friday, September 23, 2011, CVFSC will be hosting a send-off event for our club members competing at the NWP Regional Championship. All Regional competitors are asked to be dressed in Competition attire and on the ice for a group photo at 6:30pm. After the photo, all club members and students participating in private lessons at Castle Ice Arena are invited to enjoy free ice time and light refreshments. This is time for our skaters to enjoy socializing and getting to know new and potential members. Parents and siblings are welcome to participate on the ice.
Membership Packets for 2011-12
Membership renewal begins June 1, 2011 for the 2011-2012 membership year. Please click here for the membership packet. Competed forms can be sent to the membership chair or brought to the annual meeting on June 17th. Renewal period is from June 1 to June 30th, for the new year beginning July 1, 2011 and ending June 30, 2012. Membership does not become active until ALL forms are completed and dues have been processed, so please plan accordingly! Compliance with membership is checked before competitions and may delay your entry or eligibility to compete.
Club Jackets
With competition season underway, and a new membership drive approaching quickly, many of our current and future members are needing new jackets. Our club jackets are black with the required club logo embroidered on the back. Additional options include the logo on the left front side and/or skaters name on the right front side. Some choose not to have the name embroidered to make it easier to pass on to other members.
There are two steps in the process of obtaining a new club jacket. First, you will need to purchase the jacket and then (secondly) drop it off at the rink to have it embroidered. Attached is the form for the embroidery process. Please fill out the form, make the payment to “Olympic Embroidery”, place the form and payment in an envelope and attach it securely to the jacket. You may also want to put your child’s name on a piece of tape inside the jacket so it can be more easily identified upon return of the garment. Michelle Hagness has volunteered to drop off the jackets and pick them up. In respect of her time, and the set-up process required at the embroidery shop, we would appreciate having all jackets before May 20th for current members. Incoming new members will be given information and updated deadline with their applications.
In the past, we have recommended the following jackets:
Mondor 4481 Polartec fleece fitted jacket, which is a 4-way “power stretch” fleece, smooth on the outside and “fleecy” on the inside. This is a shorter fitting jacket.
Mondor 4730 Microfiber Polartec with Teflon coating to repel water and stains. It is smoother on the outside than the 4481, but still has that soft fleece feel on the inside. It is also much warmer than the 4481 and is longer in the trunk.
Mondor also is introducing two new jackets; the 2401, a fitted jacket made of light weight Polartec®. It has a longer, fitted “Princess” cut, mock neck (shorter collar) and opening for thumb. The 3875 is a comfortable Supplex® jacket with pockets. It is shorter in the trunk and is much more light weight than the older version 4481 and therefore not as warm.
The 3875 is available at The Sharper Edge pro shop at Castle Ice. The 4730 is available in limited quantities up at Highland Skate Arena. All the other styles need to be purchased on line.
If anyone has a jacket that your child has outgrown and you want to pass it on, feel free to post a message at the rink on the skaters bulletin board.
