Club Ice Event and Skate & Dress Swap was a big success.

On Friday evening February 26th, 2010, Cascade Valley Figure Skating Club had another Club Fun Skate. We had a wonderful turnout.  All levels of skaters showed up and seemed to have a great time.

It was nice to see the high-test skaters and our newer skaters skating at the same time. I am sure it is motivating for the new skaters to see how amazing our high-test skaters are – it shows them that if they keep up the hard work they can  become amazing skaters as well.

For me, as a long-time skating parent who has watched most of our high-test skaters from their early days it is very impressive to see how far they have come. And, it is wonderful to see that they can still have fun and enjoy their time on the ice as much as they did when they started.

In conjunction with the Club Ice we held a Skate & Dress Swap. Many items were provided by members, and many were purchased. We still have a lot of items left. The Swap will re-open and continue until Tuesday after Learn-to-Skate.

For new skating families – please take a close look at the skates. Most of them are top competitive skates that are well worth money – even if just for the value of blades. E.g, I know there are several skates available with Coronation Ace Blades on them – these blades cost $200 new.
